Dr. Arkoprovo Halder is a renowned consultant of Medical Oncology practicing at Medica Cancer Hospital, Siliguri, North Bengal. He is currently the only qualified DM Medical oncologist in the entire North Bengal region and has an experience of around ten years in this field.
He pursued his MBBS & internship at R.G. Kar Medical College, Kolkata. He has worked as Junior-Resident in the dept of Internal Medicine & also in the dept of Anaesthesiology & Critical care medicine, at R.G.KarMedical College. Following that he did his post-graduation MD (Radiation oncology) from the prestigious Medical College, Kolkata where he was the batch-topper & gold-medallist (2016). Post-PG he has worked in RG Kar Medical College, dept of Radiation Oncology as a Senior-resident.
After that, he did an intensive 3-year DM (medical oncology) training in the Dept of Medical Oncology, Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bangalore (one of the prestigious regional cancer centers in south India)& represented his institute in many regional & national conferences. He was awarded the degree of DM (medical oncology) from Rajiv Gandhi University of health sciences, Karnataka.
Dr. Halder is an expert in the treatment of hematological malignancies like leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. He is also proficient in dealing with solid malignancies like head-neck cancers, sarcomas, breast cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, lung cancer, urological cancers, and gynecological cancers.
His areas of interest include Lymphoma, Breast Cancers, Thoracic Malignancies, GI malignancies, Genito-urinary malignancies, Gynec cancers, Stem cell transplantation, and more. He believes in ethical & evidence-based practice to give the best results to the patient that is at par with those given in any state-of-the-art tertiary cancer centers in India & abroad. He is keen on keeping abreast with recent updates in oncology & organizing & participating in various CMEs & academic forums.
